Smoking Risk Calculator
Posted by Tatiana Rodriguez
Did you know that each cigarette you smoke will take time off of your life? I’m going to lay out some facts on this page, but most importantly, I had a geeky tech guy friend of mine help me build a calculator to show you just how much time YOU have taken off your life by smoking cigarettes. Play around with it to reveal the SHOCKING information.
This tells you exactly how much time you’ve LOST by smoking cigarettes.
KEY: The calculator will always show the “largest” data on the left. So for example, a ten year smoker who averages 10 cigarettes per day would look like this:
You‘ve taken 9 m, 5 d, 19h, 40m off your life by smoking 36,500 cigarettes!
So in written terms, That’s 9 months, 5 days, 19 hours, and 40 minutes.
We built this calculator to help steer YOU from cigarette smoking. The facts are out there, cigarettes can and most likely, will take your life, if not make it extremely difficult on you to get around to doing your every day tasks without complications. If you quit by age 30, you lower the risk of premature death by 90%.
I think I’ve made my point loud and clear. While there isn’t any long-term studies done on electronic cigarette smoking, the fact that there is no tar nor tobacco really does build a nice argument for people like me who are out there every day creating awareness. Besides, who wants to smell the awful stench of cigarettes and deal with the nasty clean-up of ash trays? Not me!
I'm a grad student and legal assistant. More importantly, I have a goal: to help people quit smoking cigarettes and switch to vapor cigarettes!
